How to Install an Over-the-Washer Basin: Sizing & Mounting

Choosing the right basin size

The washing machine must sit at least 10 cm (4 in) — ideally 12 cm (5 in) — from the wall, measured from the back edge of the machine's lid. This is exactly where the basin's siphon is mounted.

Measure your washing machine's depth at the top lid and add at least 10 cm (ideally 12 cm) of clearance to the wall. The total is the minimum basin depth you need.

Example: machine depth 40 cm + 10 cm required clearance = 50 cm — the minimum basin depth.

Don't have the machine yet and want to start with the basin? Measure the maximum distance from the wall to where the basin will sit (for example, up to a doorway). Subtract the REQUIRED 10 cm (ideally 12 cm) that must stay behind the machine. The difference is the maximum machine depth you can choose.

Note: account for any parts that stick out — the loading door, control panels, and so on.

Mounting the basin

The basin installs 0.5–1 cm above the machine's lid and must not touch it. Measure your machine's height, add the recommended gap (0.5 or 1 cm), and mark the basin's position on the wall.

Hold the basin's back panel against the wall (where the holes are) and mark the mounting points. Fit the faucet set onto the basin. Install the siphon.

Drill holes of the correct diameter into the wall and insert the plastic anchors.

Apply sanitary silicone to the back of the basin and fix it with screws and plastic fasteners.

The mounting holes on the back panel are shaped for vertical and horizontal adjustment. Once the level checks out, tighten the screws fully.

Slide the washing machine under the basin to the required distance.
